The 2014 consolidation of Toyota Motor Corporation Australia’s national operations to Melbourne sparked a significant refurbishment of its manufacturing site. Central to the upgrades was a purpose-built refuelling facility to service all new vehicles post-production before delivery to dealerships across the country.
A key project objective was to eliminate the risk of refuelling vehicles with the wrong fuel type. Working closely with Toyota’s software engineering team and our trusted suppliers, Nqpetro delivered a barcode-driven automation solution.
Operators now simply scan each vehicle’s Toyota barcode, automatically communicating the correct fuel grade to the dispenser. This process removes human input from grade selection, ensuring every vehicle receives the correct product before delivery to its new owner.
The facility now refuels up to 300 vehicles per day with unmatched accuracy and reliability. This project highlights Nqpetro’s expertise in aboveground tanks, fuel management systems, and automated fuel site design — delivering innovative, safe, and compliant hydrocarbon solutions for major automotive operations.
In addition to project delivery, Nqpetro conducts annual servicing, including meter and hose calibration as well as hazardous areas electrical inspections.
