This remote site receives 200kL of diesel by barge on a regular basis. However, the unloading process was heavily impacted by tidal conditions and manual hose handling practices. Refuelling operations often required the hose to be pulled to the land side—leading to:
• Delays during low tide
• Operational inefficiencies
• Environmental and compliance risks
The client needed a reliable, tide-independent marine diesel transfer solution that was both safe and efficient.

To address the issue, Nqpetro partnered with our trusted supplier Liquip to design and deliver a marinised swing-out unloading arm with a reach of just over 7 metres.

– A swing-arm design for ease of use and secure barge-to-shore transfer
This marine fuelling system enabled the client to offload diesel at any tide—eliminating downtime and ensuring a compliant and streamlined refuelling process.
The project was commissioned earlier this month with great success. Both the client and the barge operator were impressed by how the system transformed their operations—allowing them to refuel on their schedule without risk.
